The article highlights the starting points and shares an example of sustainable leadership in education, which calls for the participation of stakeholders in order to systematically, holistically and reflectively achieve the sustainable goals set by the United Nations. The goal of education and schooling is to bring about change in thinking, knowledge, evaluation and action. These changes in society and the environment have encouraged the National Education Institute Slovenia and the editorial board of this journal towards an action-oriented way of leading, so in addition to the theoretical definition of sustainable leadership, the article also illustrates the reading club method that promotes sustainable leadership at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana. Reading club promotes in-depth view of sustainability and enables community building with key stakeholders.
