As part of diploma work, I presented the arrangement of building blocks (atoms, ions, molecules) in different crystal structures using a computer program for drawing (Mercury). I also created 3D models of these crystal structures using a 3D printer, which will be used in classes at the faculty with the aim of better visualization and presentation of the structure of ionic and molecular crystals. The created models provide a visual presentation of coordination numbers and polyhedra, the role of crystal water, the unit cell and symmetry in the arrangement of molecules, and the phenomenon of polymorphism.
