In my thesis I am focusing on the speech of Gabrje, a village near Tolmin. Gabrje is a tonemic speech, belonging to the Obsoška dialect, which is part of the Primorska dialect group. Due to the close proximity of the Rovtar dialect of Tolmin, individual Rovtar dialect phenomena are introduced into the speech. I focused on the phraseology in Gabrje speech and by interviewing the informant I determined the knowledge and use of book verb comparative phrases. The analysis includes comparative phrases with a three-part structure (A+B+C), i.e. with a comparing constituent (A), a comparative conjunction (B) and a comparing constituent (C). As I focus on verb comparative phrases in the thesis, the comparing constituent (A) is in all cases expressed by a verb. In the Appendix there are a few more than a hundred more interesting folklore forms, i.e. components of speech, which are rarely studied in (Slovene) dialectology.
