In this thesis, we conducted an in-depth analysis and comparison of topographic data and regulations in
Slovenia and Switzerland. We focused on the operations of the Surveying and Mapping Authority of
the Republic of Slovenia (GURS) and the Swiss Federal Office of Topography (swisstopo), as well as
the quality of topographic models such as the National Topographic Model (DTM) and swissTLM3D.
The analysis is based on extensive data collection on the topographic information of both countries,
using the QGIS software tool for spatial analyses, the result of which are presented graphically. We
performed attribute data comparisons for the “buildings” layers in both models, with the results
displayed in tables. Based on these analyses, we assessed the quality of topographic data in Slovenia
and Switzerland and identified key differences and similarities between the two systems.
