In my thesis I explore the connection between creating self-portraits in the physical world and the use of artificial intelligence (from here forward AI). Self-portraiture, as one of the most intimate forms of artistic expression, offers a new way of exploring the self. Based on the concept of visualising and representing the self through self-portraits, technical processing, photographs and text, the work explores the creation of a world that exists beyond physical limitations. Due to the rapid development of AI, the thesis faces various technical and moral challenges such as unregulated development, authorship issues, threat to jobs, cooperation with the military and the falsification of truth. It also focuses on the positive features of AI. What does it offer and how does it help us? The practical part of the diploma focuses on the creation of self-portraits through the processing and generation of images with AI. I explore the use of AI tools and discuss why their existence does not threaten art.
