In my thesis, I address homeliness as a feeling and home as a space. I believe that memory largely builds the feeling of homeliness, so I discuss various functions of memory in the home. Since photographs are objects whose primary function in the domestic environment is re-membrance, I also write about vernacular and fine art photography and provide a brief over-view of photographic projects related to home that have influenced me and my photographic practice. I explore the home as a space in terms of architectural space and its characteristics. I am also interested in the relationship of domestic space to time and its function of protecting the dreamer, as discussed by Gaston Bachelard. I also present the role of objects in the domes-tic environment. The practical part consists of three independent works (the photo book Plan-ica, Pohorje, divje svinje, the installation Domača krama, and the video Vse, kar pride zraven), which I presented together in an exhibition setup. For each work, I will present the concep-tion of the idea, the production process, and the final execution.
