Abstract

Title:Metaphorical designations for persons from nouns with the basic meaning of domestic animals in Slovenian and French
Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to investigate metaphorical designations for persons from nouns with the basic meaning of domestic animals in Slovenian and French. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter defines metaphor in language, presents its general and lexicological theories of metaphor, and highlights zoomorphic metaphor. The second chapter presents dictionaries (SSKJ2, eSSKJ, Le Petit Robert) and qualifiers. The third chapter presents the material for the analytical treatment of metaphorical meaning transfers and six animal names, which in Slovenian and French contain secondary meanings that were created through metaphorization and name a person.
