Abstract
V zaključni nalogi smo dokumentirali postopek razvoja in izdelave visokonapetostnega baterijskega paketa ekipe Superior Engineering za tekmovanje Formula Student v sezoni 2023/2024. Baterijski paket mora biti izdelan v skladu s pravilnikom tekmovanja, hkrati pa mora zadostiti zahtevam različnih dinamičnih disciplin tekmovanja. Pregledali smo literaturo o delovanju Li-ionske celice in njenih lastnostih. Razvili smo algoritem, ki na osnovi ciljnih vrednosti izbere celico in konfiguracijo z najnižjo maso. Dimenzionirali smo močnostne vodnike in jih skupaj s signalnimi napeljavami vgradili v tiskano vezje. Preučili smo različne možnosti montaže ploščatih celic in oblikovali lažji segment s povečano varnostjo. Opisali smo sestavne dele baterijskega paketa in postopek njihove izdelave. Delo bo uporabljeno za prenos znanja na nove člane ekipe in bo služilo v pomoč pri oblikovanju naslednjega baterijskega paketa.

Title:Development of a Battery Pack for a Formula Student race car
Abstract:
We documented the process of developing and manufacturing a high-voltage battery pack for the Superior Engineering team competing in the 2023/2024 Formula Student season. The battery pack must be built in accordance with the competition’s regulations while also meeting the requirements of various dynamic disciplines in the competition. We reviewed the literature on the inner workings of Li-ion cells and their properties. We developed an algorithm that selects the cell and configuration with the lowest mass based on target values. We dimensioned the high-power conductors and integrated them with the signal wiring into a printed circuit board. We examined various options for mounting pouch cells and designed a lighter segment with increased safety. We described the components of the battery pack and the process of their fabrication. This work will be used to transfer knowledge to new team members and will aid in the design of the next battery pack.
