Abstract

Abstract:
This thesis focuses on a survey of how different factors affect the escarpment over growing. Our main foci were the impacts of the age of the forestroads, escarpmentʼs incline, altitude, and the impact of the width of the clearance. Fifty transverse profiles were measured on each of the three forest roads of different ages. The measuring range encompassed forest roads in the Bled areaŽspecifically, forest roads that were built on solid grounds in the southern areas. Escarpments that are not overgrown represent a danger to the drivers of the road, they are more subjected to erosion, and are not aesthetic. The survey revealed that escarpments of older roads are more overgrown than the younger ones. Moreover, the survey confirmed that the most effective factors of the escarpment overgrowing are the time that has passed by since the road construction, the width of the clearance, and consequently, the quantity of the light and the heat that reach the ground, whereas the incline and the altitude are less affective factors. However, it needs to be pointed out that interaction of all factors is crucial for a successful escarpment overgrowing.
