Abstract
To diplomsko delo izpostavi pomembnost razumevanja in percepcije umetne inteligence med otroki. Umetna inteligenca se širi izredno hitro in je dostopna praktično vsem ljudem ne glede na starost, zato je bilo pomembno raziskati, kakšno je dojemanje novih tehnologij med mladimi. Poudarek je na analizi ozaveščenosti o umetni inteligenci ter vplivu izobraževanja in socialnih dejavnikov. Za dosego cilja je bila uporabljena fokusna skupina, izvedena s 40 učenci osnovne šole, poleg tega vsebuje sekundarno analizo relevantnih raziskav. Z navedenimi metodami so bili pridobljeni pomembni podatki, razdeljeni na pet tematik, ki nudijo vpogled v razmišljanje mladih. Te tematike so otroško razumevanje umetne inteligence, otroško dojemanje umetne inteligence, učenje otrok o umetni inteligenci, lastne izkušnje z umetno inteligenco in odnos staršev do umetne inteligence. Ugotovitve kažejo, da med mladimi obstajajo pomembne razlike v razumevanju tehnologij umetne inteligence in nakazujejo na potrebo po uvedbi splošno dostopnih izobraževalnih programov. Dojemanje tehnologij umetne inteligence med osnovnošolskimi otroki je prevladujoče pozitivno, predvsem je viden vpliv staršev in medijev. Te ugotovitve služijo kot referenca za nadaljnje raziskave dojemanja umetne inteligence.

Title:Exploring the minds of tomorrow: a study of children’s understanding and perception of artificial intelligence
Abstract:
This thesis highlights the importance of understanding and perception of artificial intelligence among children. Artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding and becoming accessible to almost everyone, regardless of age. Therefore, it was crucial to investigate how young people perceive these new technologies. The focus is on analyzing artificial intelligence awareness and the influence of education and social factors. To achieve this goal, a focus group was conducted with 40 elementary school students, along with a secondary analysis of relevant research. These methods provided significant data divided into five themes, offering insight into the thinking of children. These themes are children's understanding of artificial intelligence, children's perception of artificial intelligence, children's learning of artificial intelligence, their own experiences with artificial intelligence and attitude of parents towards artificial intelligence. The findings indicate significant differences in the understanding of artificial intelligence technologies among young people, suggesting the need for universally accessible educational programs. The perception of artificial intelligence technologies among primary school students is predominantly positive, with a notable influence from parents and media. These findings serve as a reference for further research on the perception of artificial intelligence.
