The renovation of the Formin HPP is divided into two parts, the first relates to
the renovation of the supply channel and the power plant’s engine room, and the
second to the renovation of the switchyard. The diploma thesis will focus on the
construction of the 110 kV Formin switchgear in GIS implementation and mainte-
nance and operation of GIS switchgear types. However, the construction of a new
switchyard is necessary because the old 110 kV is technologically obsolete. The
existing primary equipment is worn-out, and the secondary equipment mostly
does not meet modern requirements, especially in terms of control and protec-
tion of such facilities. Throughout the diploma thesis, the choice of a GIS-type
switchgear is also justified.
