Abstract

Title:Energy analysis of a pedal-powered vehicle with solar cells and battery storage system
Abstract:
In modern times, global warming is becoming an increasingly significant problem. This thesis presents a vehicle as a potential solution to this challenge. We have developed a concept of a transportation means that combines solar-generated electricity with human-powered energy. The vehicle carries four passengers, who drive the rear drive shaft by pedaling, which in turn rotates the rear wheels. The rear drive shaft is also powered by an electric motor through gears and a chain, with the necessary electrical energy supplied by a battery storage system. The vehicle is equipped with solar panels on the roof that charge the battery storage. The main objective of the thesis was to evaluate the feasibility and performance of such a vehicle. The thesis also presents and explains the electrical system diagram of the vehicle. It also presents energy analysis of traveling with this vehicle.
