In today's fast-paced world, organization and effective time management have become more important than ever before. With the development of technology and the need for better organization, higher productivity, and constant motivation, various productivity planning apps have also been emerging to help users manage their tasks and time.
The aim of this diploma thesis was thus to plan, design, and prototype the user interface of a productivity planning application, according to the guidelines for good planning and design of applications, which were drawn up after a thorough research of the apps currently available on the market.
As such, the thesis was divided into a theoretical and an experimental part. In the theoretical part, we focus mainly on how productivity planning has been done in the past and how it has evolved with advances in technology, while also mentioning different methods and tools for planning our productivity. We then discuss related productivity planning solutions with emphasis on user experience and corresponding interfaces, which are an important aspect of the application planning and design process.
The experimental part covers the analyses and methods we used to better understand user needs, obtain important information, and design a productivity planning app. As a result, we designed a prototype interface for an app called BeeProductive, which was intended to combine the most important and best functionalities of other existing apps, while still providing a good user experience due to the involvement of users in the planning and design process.
