Master's thesis Designing womenswear collection Western freestyle is presented the process and result of designing a "ready-to-wear" clothing collection. With a starting point in the cowboy details and jeans of the hip-hop movement from the 1990s until the turn of the century.
In first chapter of the theoretical part, I researched cowboy and hip hop clothing details from a historical and cultural point of view. I devoted the second segment to modern interpretations and a sustainable approach with dead stocks.
The design of the experimental work is the process of creating a "ready-to-wear" collection for spring/summer. Produced garments are the result of an experimental method. I was inspired by the iconic elements of the cowboy and hip hop subculture. As a concluded sustainable approach is the use of materials from the dead stocks of Tekstina and Inplet.
