Slovenian rivers are nowadays used for tourist purposes only, such as kayaking and rafting on the rivers Mura, Drava, Sava, and also on the Soca and Kolpa rivers, as well as tourist wooden rafts on the Drava and Sava rivers, and tourist boats on the Ljubljanica river in the city of Ljubljana. Inland waterway transport in Slovenia is regulated by various regulations issued by the state and municipalities.
The laws governing inland navigation in Slovenia are the Inland Navigation Act or ZPCV and the Water Act ZV-1, followed by a series of regulations, and each municipality determines the navigation regime in its area. Problems arise in the implementation of the legislation and the local regulations of the municipalities.
