Compounds with the succinic acid anion (H$_2$L; C$_4$H$_6$O$_4$) and nicotinamide (nia; C$_6$H$_6$N$_2$O) were sinthesized. These compounds are pink cobalt(II) compound {[CoL(nia)$_2$(H$_2$O)$_2$](H$_2$O)$_2$}$_n$ 1, light blue nickel(II) compound {[NiL(nia)$_2$(H$_2$O)$_2$](H$_2$O)$_2$}$_n$ 2, white zinc(II) compound {[ZnL(nia)$_2$(H$_2$O)$_2$](H$_2$O)$_2$}$_n$ 3, turquoise green copper(II) compound CuL(nia)$_3$(H$_2$O)$_2$ 4, beige manganese(II) compound {[MnL(nia)$_2$(H$_2$O)$_2$](H$_2$O)$_2$}$_n$ 5 and indigo copper(II) compound CuL(nia)(H$_2$O) 6. The structures of nickel, cobalt, and zinc ion compounds have already been determined. Compounds 1-3 are isostructural with each other as their powder XRD resemble. Similar XRD and CHN analysis data suggest a very similar structure for compound 5 to that of compounds 1-3. I cannot confirm this for copper compounds 4 and 6, but I can also write the formula for these two compounds with L and nia present, as this is inferred from the CHN and IR data. The UV-Vis spectra of the compounds differ from each other and are consistent with the colours for the different metals present in compounds 1-6.
