Abstract

Title:Transition analysis from heating oil and wood biomass to a photovoltaic power plant and a heat pump in a single-family house
Abstract:
The thesis analyzes transitions from traditional energy sources to renewable ones, with a focus on calculating investments and CO2 emissions savings. The study describes devices such as solar power plants, heat pumps, and electric vehicles, which could ensure a sustainable transition. The calculations include produced heat, required amounts of energy sources, CO2 emissions, and the payback period of the investment. The results indicate that heating oil and non-sustainable wood biomass are the biggest polluters, while the greatest benefit is achieved if future planned transition is made all at once, taking into account the proper sizing of photovoltaic systems.
