The field of science continually seeks answers to unanswered questions. One of the areas it explores is the field of cognitive abilities. This field holds answers both about the development of the mind and about diseases such as Alzheimer disease. Various methods are required to research such a field.
This thesis focuses on the development of a system for testing the cognitive abilities of chimpanzees. The system will mimic the game Simon says. The game is played with nine buttons, where these buttons light up in a random sequence. The chimpanzee must then press them in the given sequence to advance to the next round and earn a reward.
With such a system, we can obtain data on how good the chimpanzee's memory is and how quickly they solve the problem. Such a system could be helpful to researchers who study chimpanzee cognition, enabling the reproducibility of the same experiment across multiple subjects.
