Abstract
Vsem izbranim drevesom smo izmerili prsni premer ter ocenili socialni status, velikost in utesnjenost krošnje ter zabeležili morebiten pojav večvrhatosti (razsohlosti). Nato se je drevje posekalo in ob tem izvedlo debelno analizo. Sledilo je tehtanje vejevja. Rezultati študije kažejo, da suha masa vejevja zavzema okvirno 6-20 % v nadzemni drevesni masi. Zelo podobne deleže dosega volumen vejevja. Obe količini - suha masa in volumen - vejevja se povečujeta z debelino drevesa. Drobnejše veje (premer do 3 cm) prevladujejo nekje do 45 cm prsnega premera.

Abstract:
The meaning of total forest ecosystem production or of total tree production increases. The aim of this work is to establish and to analyse the dependency of branches quantity in even-aged beech stands on carbonate bedrock on diameter at breast height and on dimension of crowns. Field work was carried out on massif of Rog, in forest management unit Soteska. Trees of different thickness and of different crowns were sampled. For all the trees diameter at breast height was measured and the social status and crown characteristics were visually estimated. After that, the trees were cut and stem analyses were performed. That was followed by branch weighing. The results show, that dry mass of branches accounts 6-20% of above ground dendromass. Similar sharesare achieved by branch volume. Both quantities - dry mass and volume - increases with increasing tree thickness. Twigs (thinner branches with diameter up to 3cm) prevail by tress with diameter at breast height below 45 cm. Bivariate analyses show, that branch dry mass increases with diameter at breast height, tree height, age, crown share, crown diameter and stemwood. Thequantity of branches is higher at forked trees of similar thickness, as well. For visually estimated crown isolation the influence on branch quantity was not confirmed.
