Abstract
Uvod: Osteoporoza je sistemsko obolenje kosti, za katerega je značilna nizka kostna masa, ki poveča krhkost kosti in s tem tudi dovzetnost za zlome. Med priporočene pristope zdravljenja spada telesna dejavnost, ki ima pozitivne učinke na mišično jakost, ravnotežje in kostno gostoto. Vibracija celega telesa je eden izmed postopkov zdravljenja osteoporoze, ki je enostaven za izvedbo in primeren za osebe, ki niso zmožne izvajati visoko intenzivnih vadb. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je bil na podlagi pregleda literature analizirati vpliv vibracij celega telesa na kostno gostoto pri ženskah v postmenopavzalnem obdobju. Metode dela: Iskanje literature je potekalo v podatkovnih zbirkah ScienceDirect in PubMed. Rezultati: Analiziranih je bilo sedem raziskav. Mineralno kostno gostoto so v vseh raziskavah merili z dvoenergetsko rentgensko absorpciometrijo. V eksperimentalni skupini so izvajali vibracije celega telesa, kontrolne skupine niso imele terapije, ali pa so prejemale le dodatke vitamina D in kalcija. V štirih raziskavah se je kostna gostota preiskovank eksperimentalne skupine statistično pomembno izboljšala (p < 0,05) v primerjavi s kontrolno skupino. Največje spremembe kostne mase so bile izmerjene na območju ledvene hrbtenice in trohanternične regije, in sicer tudi do 8,8 %. V dveh raziskavah po končnih meritvah v eksperimentalni skupini niso zaznali izboljšanja kostne gostote v primerjavi s kontrolno skupino. Razprava in zaključek: Vadba vibracij celega telesa se je izkazala za učinkovito metodo ohranjanja in/ali povečevanja mineralne kostne gostote pri ženskah v postmenopavzalnem obdobju. Smernice za uporabo najprimernejših parametrov vibracij še vedno niso povsem znane, zato bi bile potrebne dodatne raziskave na tem področju.

Title:Effect of whole body vibration on mineral bone density in postmenopausal women – literature review : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Osteoporosis is a systemic bone disorder characterized by low bone mass, increasing bone fragility, and susceptibility to fractures. Recommended treatment approaches include physical activity, which has positive effects on muscle strength, balance, and bone density. Whole-body vibration is one of the procedures for treatment of osteoporosis, which is simple to perform and suitable for those unable to perform high-intensity exercises. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work was to analyse, based on a literature review, the impact of whole-body vibrations on bone density in postmenopausal women. Methods: Literature search was conducted in the ScienceDirect and PubMed databases. Results: Seven studies were analysed. Mineral bone density was measured in all studies using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. The experimental groups performed whole-body vibration, while control groups had either no therapy or only received vitamin D and calcium supplements. In four studies, the bone density of the subjects in the experimental group improved significantly (p < 0,05) compared to the control group. The greatest changes in bone mass were measured in the lumbar spine and trochanteric region, up to 8.8%. In two studies, no improvement in bone density was observed in the experimental group compared to the control group after final measurements. Discussion and Conclusion: Whole-body vibration exercise has been shown to be an effective method for maintaining and/or increasing mineral bone density in postmenopausal women. Guidelines for the use of the most appropriate vibration parameters are still not fully understood, so additional research in this area is needed.
