Abstract

Title:Parametric analysis of pulsed TIG welding of stainless steel
Abstract:
Pulsed TIG welding allows for precise control of heat input during welding due to the pulsing of the welding current, which is especially suitable for welding stainless steels with issues of poor thermal conductivity. In previous research, the correlation between welding parameters and heat input during welding has been poorly defined. The aim of this thesis was to determine the effect of welding parameters on the response of the welding power source and indirectly on the heat input in the TIG welding process, and to compare their influence on the weld shape. We conducted experimental pulsed TIG welding, adjusting the pulse frequency and welding current intensity. By measuring the current and voltage, we compared the response of the welding power source and determined the heat input, which we compared with theoretical values. We found that the choice of welding parameters significantly affects the response of the welding power source and indirectly influences the heat input as well as geometric characteristics of the welds.
