Abstract

Title:Surface processing of magnetorheological materials with UV laser
Abstract:
In this work, we characterized a new UV laser and used it to produce lamellar surfaces on magnetorheological elastomers (MRE). We measured the average power of laser flashes and the energy of each flash at different flash frequencies and different laser settings. We have presented the results with graphs that will help with the further use of the laser. Then we made lamellar surfaces on the MRE using a UV laser and a fiber laser. We found out that with UV laser we are able to produce lamellas that are twice as thin, compared to lamellas produced with a fiber laser, which shows its advantages in the precise processing of materials. These results open up new possibilities for further research and the use of UV lasers in various technologies.
