Breakdowns and extended downtimes of CNC machines present a major cost in industry. One of the main reasons for longer machine downtimes is vibration. That is why we decided to demonstrate the installation and operation of the machine vibration measurement system manufactured by Montronix in the thesis. Such a system is used in maintenance automation and represents the future of predicative maintenance. With the help of measuring vibrations at different places of the machine, we demonstrated the importance of the measuring place in relation to the desired results of the application and the possibility of automating maintenance. With an additional example, we demonstrated the usefulness of the vibration measurement system in optimizing of the machining process.
