Abstract

Title:Personalised long-term care planning: Older people, victims of violence : magistrsko delo
Abstract:
The theoretical part of the master's thesis consist of description of the method of personal planning, long-term care and of the response to the domestic violence in Slovenia with the aim that old people who are victims of violence and at the same time also users of long-term care will receive appropriate help and support within the framework of long-term care planning, which also includes the recognition and above all elimination of violence against them. The description of the method of personal planning, long-term care and treatment of domestic violence is intended both for employees in the field of planning and implementation of long-term care, as well as for employees who work in the field of treatment of violence. The practical part of the thesis presents two examples of personal planning of long-term care with older women who are victims of violence using magnets of the need index, as developed in Long-Term Care (Flaker et al., 2008). The knowledge gained with the master's thesis can help authorities, public service providers and other service providers in the field of social care, long-term care, health care and also local self-government bodies and non-governmental organisations that implement programmes of prevention and recovery from experienced violence. At the same time gained knowledge also contributes to the development of social work and to the method of personal planning. The personal planning method is a method that recognizes users as experts and it can help to achieve (Mapp, 2009) a culturally relevant, more equitable world.
