The aim of the research for the diploma paper was to ascertain whether improper work technique is increasing a chopper's overload with shaking. The research was carried out in Postojna forest management district, consisting ofspruce with admixture of beech and fir trees. The surveying was administeredin cooperation with chopper and practical tuition teacher from Secondary Forestry and Woodwork School Postojna. The preparation for the surveying took one day, while the surveying alone was carried out in three days. The chopper was applying proper work technique on the first day of the surveying, while on the next day the technique applied was improper. The overload of the chopper with shaking was determined by placing a T-carrier with accelerometer between his index and ring finger. In parallel with the surveying, a time study of work was carried out. On the third day of the surveying we were testing the difference between firm and loose adhesion of the sawmill leading handle in the sawmill storage. The results of the researchshow that the measured intensity of the shaking of the hands and palmsregardless of the technique of work applied for logging was much higher than what the findings of previous research demonstrated. The reason for this can be seen in the method of surveying. It was namely noted that the firmer the grip, the smaller the difference between intensity of shaking measured on the hand with the help of the T-carrier and the intensity measured directly onthe leading handle of the sawmill.
