Abstract
Uvod: V radiologiji ključno vlogo igra na pacienta osredotočena oskrba, saj pomembno prispeva k izboljšanju kakovosti oskrbe in pacientovih izidov zdravljenja. Metode dela: Uporabili smo opisno oz. deskriptivno metodo, kjer smo za pregled znanstvene in strokovne literature uporabili različne podatkovne baze, in sicer PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library in SAGE Journals. Rezultati: Iz skupno identificiranih 1123 rezultatov, smo v raziskavo vzeli 11 člankov, katere smo razvrstili po naslovu, avtorjih, letnici izdaje, cilju in ugotovitvah raziskave. Radiologi imajo možnost pacientu razložiti izvid in zdravstveno stanje na jasen in razumljiv način, s čimer aktivno vključujejo pacienta v proces zdravljenja.

Title:Patient-centered care in radiology – systematic literature review : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Patient-centered care plays a crucial role in radiology, significantly contributing to the improvement of care quality and patient outcomes. The goal of patient-centered healthcare is to empower patients to become active participants in their care. Purpose: This thesis aims to present the concept of patient-centered care and its relevance in radiology. The study explores the emphasis on patient-centered care principles in radiology, how patients prefer to receive radiological exam results, the advantages of patient-centered care in radiology, and how patients evaluate consultations with radiologists. Methods: A descriptive method was employed, utilizing various databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, and SAGE Journals for a review of scientific literature. The search strategy focused on key terms and their synonyms in English, including patient-centered care, radiology, radiography, radiographer, radiologist, and radiologic technologist. Inclusion criteria considered publication between 2013 and 2023 with full-text availability in English. Results: Out of 1123 identified results, 11 articles were included in the study, categorized by title, authors, publication year, aim, and research findings. Discussion and conclusion: Most authors underscore the importance of direct communication, aligning with the principles of information and education. Communication between patients and radiologists proves to be notably significant. Patients express a desire to receive radiological exam results directly from radiologists. Radiologists have the opportunity to explain findings and health conditions in a clear and understandable manner, actively involving patients in the treatment process. The main advantage of the patient-centered care approach is reflected in high patient satisfaction, significantly contributing to the enhancement of healthcare service quality. Overall patient satisfaction with radiological examination procedures, particularly in connection with discussions with radiologists, serves as compelling evidence in favor of the patient-centered care approach. Radiographers represent a significant step in patient-centered care in radiology, although their role is under-researched and underemphasized.
