Abstract
V diplomski nalogi je predstavljena pokritost z gozdom Republike Slovenije ter potencial, uporaba in ekološki pomen ogrevanja s biomaso v Republiki Sloveniji. Podrobno so opisane razlike med ogrevanjem z lesom ter ogrevanjem z lesenimi peleti. Predstavljen je tudi kalorimetrski sistem IKA C200, s katerim določamo zgorevalno toploto izbranih vzorcev. Za analizo lesa smo izbrali zračno sušen les bukve ter zračno sušen les smreke. Za analizo lesnih peletov pa smo si izbrali vzorce smrekovih in bukovih peletov. Temeljni cilj diplomskega dela je primerjava rezultatov analize vzorcev, ter uvrstitev posameznih vzorcev v kakovostne razrede. Vzorcem smo določili: delež pepela, delež higrovlage, delež hlapnega in zgorevalno toploto. Vse meritve in analize so bile izvedene v Laboratoriju za goriva na Naravoslovno tehniški fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani na Oddelku za materiale in metalurgijo. Končni rezultati ter primerjave med vzorci pa so zbrani v tabeli 8.

Title:Analysis of thermal characteristics of wood and wood pellets : diploma work
Abstract:
The thesis presents the forest cover of the Republic of Slovenia, and the potential, use, and ecological significance of biomass heating in the Republic of Slovenia. The differences between wood heating and wood pellet heating are described in detail. The thesis also introduces the IKA C200 calorimetric system, which is used to determine the calorific value of selected samples. For the analysis of wood, we selected air-dried beech wood and air-dried spruce wood as samples. For the analysis of wood pellets, we selected samples of spruce pellets and beech pellets. The main goal of the thesis was to compare the results of the sample analyses and to classify the samples into quality grades. The samples were analyzed for ash content, moisture content, volatile matter content, and calorific value. All measurements and analyses were conducted in the Laboratory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Department of Materials and Metallurgy. The final results and comparisons between samples are summarized in a table 8.
