Abstract
Na 3 izbranih drevesih jelke (Abies alba Mill.) s področja Snežnika smo določili višinske in radialne porazdelitve vlažnosti, gostote, vlažnosti točke nasičenja celičnih sten in volumenskih skrčkov.

Title:Radial and vertical fir properties as heterocapillary system : graduation thesis - higher professional studies
Abstract:
Vertical and radial distribution of moisture, density, fibre saturation point moisture, and shrinkage in 3 selected fir trees (Abies alba Mill.) in the Snežnik area were determined. All studied properties were evaluated in correlation between sapwood and heartwood. Distribution of wood moisture on transverse sections confirmed visually detected the distribution of wetheart occurred in larger proportions in the base of the tree and in the crown area. We confirmed that the wetheart, which makes drying process more difficult, can be separated with visual classification and in this way separated batches of drying can be prepared.
