The purpose of the research was to determine how work techniques with different noise levels influence lumberman. The main hypothesis of our graduation thesis was that incorrect work technique negatively affects lumberman with higher noise levels. Measures were taken at Postojna forestry region, at Planina forestry unit, in pine forest, with admixture of beech and fir. The measures were taken in two parts. The first day lumberman was using correct technique and the second day incorrect work technique. Each day 10 pine trees were cut down. Along with the noise measures also time studying wastaken. The results of the measures have shown that there are no essential differences between both techniques. Higher differences in noise levels were shown within separate work operations. Thus we have found out that using incorrect work technique can enlarge noise load. At some work operations noiseintensity by using the incorrect work technique was even lower, what is above all the consequence of too small research. The model of lumberman noise load in productive time has shown that the difference between correct and incorrect work technique is only 0,19 dB(A). In spite of all that, the correctwork technique should be defended, because it has positive affects on safety, on lumberman physical load and on reducing bone-muscular system load.
