Abstract
Nenavadni vremenski dogodki vključujejo deževje v avgustu leta 1847, poplave v juliju 1848 ter nestabilnosti zaradi menjavanja toplih in hladnih obdobji v jeseni 1854.

Title:Weather and Climate in Bleiweis’ News
Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to present the weather conditions and their impact on society and the economy during the period from 1843 to 1867, using data obtained from the Agricultural and Artisan News. In Bleiweis' newspaper, the climate was divided into five categories based on altitude, exposure, relief characteristics, and the influence of water bodies. Reconstructing the climate is challenging due to the lack of systematic observations. Nevertheless, a review of weather events from 1843 to 1867 shows a diversity of climatic phenomena, with the most common ones being heat thunderstorms, droughts, autumn rains, and floods. Unusual weather events include rainfall in August 1847, floods in July 1848, and instabilities due to alternating warm and cold periods in the autumn of 1854. The news often reported on the impact of weather on crop yields and price changes. Understanding this data requires considering the historical context and potential exaggeration of facts. The analysis shows that climate changes were reflected in agricultural practices and significantly affected the local economy and community.
