Abstract
Iveral P5 niso zagotavljale signifikantno boljše odpornosti proti visoki vlažnosti in temperaturi kakor iveral P2.

Title:
Dimensional stability of kichen furniture in conditions of high humidity and temperature : graduation thesis - higher professional studies
Abstract:
This thesis assesses the possibility to produce wooden furniture for warm and humid climates. Such climate conditions had the strongest impact on test piece A made of refined chipboard P2. Average swelling on the corpus and the door was 0.70 mm. ABS foil also changed visually, partly detaching from the chipboard. Test piece B made of refined chipboard P2 and solid maple wood suffered a swelling of 0.60 mm on the corpus and of 0.30 mm on the door. A 2.50 mm swelling along the door frame and cracks appeared on the surface coating above frame joints. A bend was also observed. Test piece C was made of refined chipboard P5. Average swelling on the corpus and the door was 0.60 mm. The foil on the edges became detached. Test pieces B and C showed visible changes on the corpus similar to those of test piece A. The materials (refined chipboard P2 and P5, solid maple wood) are not appropriate for furniture to be used in a tropical climate because of swelling and other deformations. Neither type of refined chipboard (P2 and P5) was sufficiently resistant to high humidity and temperature.
