An employee-friendly work environment provides the best conditions for a productive and successful operation for the employee. The employer must ensure an ergonomically arranged workplace, foster motivation, prevent burnout and stress factors, and reduce monotony, for example, with music, greenery, and appropriate color choices.
More and more organizations now allow office services to be performed from home, which brings both advantages and disadvantages, extensively examined in the thesis. The purpose of the thesis was to provide findings and suggestions to improve the state of the working environment at the Ministry of Interior (hereafter referred to as MNZ).
The theoretical part of the thesis was prepared based on the qualitative method, specifically the descriptive method with a review of domestic and foreign literature. The research part of the thesis was based on surveys, statistical data analysis, and presenting the statistical results of the study. The questionnaire survey aimed to determine how employees at the Ministry of Interior assess selected aspects of the working environment in the office and when working from home.
From the results of the entire research, it was possible to conclude that the working environment in the office is generally more pleasant than when working from home because usually, employees must arrange appropriate office equipment, microclimatic conditions, and visual comfort by themselves, which represents an additional cost. Furthermore, the results revealed that some employees are not satisfied with the level of support or measures from the employers regarding stress, mobbing, and burnout. Based on these findings, the management will be able to take appropriate measures to improve the current situation.
