Abstract
Vrtec je institucija, v katero vstopi večina otrok, kar pomeni, da se strokovni delavci v vrtcu neizogibno srečujejo tudi z različnimi obremenjujočimi izkušnjami in travmami otrok, saj so z njimi vsakodnevno v neposrednem stiku. V teoretičnem delu magistrskega dela pojasnim izraze obremenjujoče izkušnje v otroštvu, travma in travmatične izkušnje, obete oziroma posledice teh izkušenj ter predstavim predloge za pomoč otroku z obremenjujočo izkušnjo. Predstavim opredelitve travme različnih avtorjev, travmatičnega dogodka ter znake in simptome pri otroku. Pišem o posledicah travme in pristopu, utemeljenem na razumevanju travme. Na koncu predstavim pomen vrtca pri ravnanju s travmo.

Title:Traumatic experiences in childhood and the role of kindergarten
Abstract:
The kindergarten is an institution where the majority of children enter, which means that kindergarten professionals inevitably encounter various burdensome experiences and traumas of children, as they are in direct contact with them on a daily basis. In the theoretical part of the master's thesis, I explain the terms burdensome experiences in childhood, trauma and traumatic experiences, the consequences of these experiences, and present suggestions for helping a child with a burdensome experience. I present definitions of trauma by various authors, a traumatic event, and signs and symptoms in a child. I write about the consequences of trauma and an approach based on the understanding of trauma. Finally, I present the importance of kindergarten in dealing with trauma.
