The aim of the thesis is to design a women’s collection based on the two themes of circus and plastic. The thesis covers the design and execution of a virtual women’s collection, named Rayado.
Fashion today is very present and widespread to the point that it is for everyone, because through clothing everyone can present themselves as an individual and creative being. In this we can see the essence and beauty of creativity and the diversity of each individual. Fashion therefore also allows us to create and show our own identity.
In the theoretical part of the thesis the history of the circus is presented, which led to the main focus of the collection, which is the lines and stripes. The line as an artistic element and the appearance of lines in the history of fashion are then explored. A large part of the theoretical part is devoted to plastic, as this is one of the biggest problems in fashion today, as well as in all other branches of industry. First, the problem of pollution is explored, then the problem of plastic waste is described in more detail. The last explores contemporary fashion and how it is expressed through 3D design.
The practical part involves the design and virtual realisation of a women's collection called Rayado. The collection consists of twelve silhouettes, three of which are realised. The following are presented: the concept of the collection with a starting point, the target group, the colour palette, the materials, sketches and technical sketches of the individual garments. In terms of materials, mention should be made of ESD plastic bags, which are waste bags that would be recycled and reused when the collection is realised, adding to the sustainable aspect of the collection. The practical part of the assignment includes the concept and also the realisation of the collection in virtual form. The final result is therefore a virtual womenswear collection called Rayado, presented in 3D models made in Marvelus designer and virtual representations of photographs made in Blender.
