Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava zasaditve ob naslednjih hotelsko-zdraviliških in hotelskih objektih na slovenski obali: Mladinsko zdravilišče Debeli rtič, Zdravilišče Strunjan, Terme Portorož, Ortopedska bolnišnica Valdoltra, Hotel Convent, Turistični kompleks v Simonovem zalivu, Turistični kompleks Belveder, Hotel Bernardin, Hotel Kempinski Portorož in Remisens Premium hotel Metropol. V uvodnem delu so predstavljene značilnosti slovenske Obale in razvoja turistične dejavnosti. Drugi, obsežnejši del magistrske naloge, preučuje nastanek in spreminjanje krajinsko-arhitekturnih prvin skozi čas in prepoznava tipe zasaditev in najpogostejše rastlinske vrste ob turističnih kompleksih danes. Pregledana je bila obstoječa literatura o zgodovinskem razvoju turističnih nastanitev ter na temelju terenskega ogleda in identifikacije rastlin oblikovana lestvica pogostosti vrst in načina njihove rabe (posamična rastlina, skupina, drevored ...) na obravnavanih lokacijah. V skupine so najpogosteje sajene ameriška agava (Agave americana), žumara (Chamaerops humilis), rožmarin (Rosmarinus officinalis) in sivka (Lavandula agustifolia). Kot živa meja so pogosto uporabljeni julijanin češmin (Berberis julianae), navadni pušpan (Buxus sempervirens), pacipresa (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana), navadni lovor (Laurus nobilis), oleander (Nerium oleander), ameriški klek (Thuja occidentalis), navadni lepljivec (Pittosporum tobira) in lovorikovec (Prunus laurocerasus). Prevladujoče mediteranske vrste dreves so alepski bor (Pinus halepensis), črni bor (Pinus nigra), obmorski bor (Pinus pinaster), gladki bor (Pinus strobus) in rdeči bor (Pinus sylvestris), pinija (Pinus pinea) in vednozelena cipresa (Cupressus sempervirens).

Title:SELECTION AND USE OF MEDITERRANEAN PLANTS BY SPA HOTEL COMPLEXES ON THE SLOVENIAN COAST
Abstract:
This master thesis studies plantings by hotels and spa facilities along the Slovenian Coast: Debeli Rtič Youth Resort, Strunjan Spa Resort, Portorož Spa Resort and Valdoltra Orthopedic Hospital, Convent Hotel, Simon's Bay Tourist Complex, Belvedere Tourist Complex, Bernardin Hotel, Kempinski Palace Portorož Hotel and Remisens Premium Hotel Metropol. The first part of the thesis presents the characteristics of the Slovenian Coast and tourism development. The second, more extensive part, studies the development of landscape architecture elements through time, listing the most common plant species and their planting types near the tourist locations today. Relevant literature on the historical development of tourist facilities was reviewed, andbased on site surveys and plant identifications, a scaleof most common plant specieswas created. The most common plants in group plantings are century plant (Agave americana), European fan palm (Chamaerops humilis), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) and lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). The plant species commonly used as hedges are wintergreen barberry (Berberis julianae), common box (Buxus sempervirens), Lawson cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana), bay laurel (Laurus nobilis), oleander (Nerium oleander), arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis), mock orange (Pittosporum tobira) and cherry laurel (Prunus laurocerasus). Most frequently planted Mediterranean tree species include Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis), black pine (Pinus nigra), maritime pine (Pinus pinaster), Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus), Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), stone pine (Pinus pinea) and Mediterranean cypress (Cupressus sempervirens).
