Abstract
Naloga obravnava rastiščne značilnosti, strukturo in razvoj gozda na zgornji gozdni meji na Košuti. Opravljene so bile meritve na dveh ploskvah tik pod sestojno mejo in na dveh progah v prehodnem pasu nad sestojno mejo. Rezultati teh meritev, terenskih ogledov, dendrometrijske analize in analize aerofotoposnetkov kažejo na močan antropozoogeni vpliv v preteklosti. Gozdovi na zgornji gozdni meji so sposobni visoke produkcije biomase, kar omogoča ekološko stabilnost tega okolja. Vidi se potreba po ureditvi visokogorske paše in drugih rab prostora, kar bo omogočilo čimbolj naraven razvoj ekosistemov v visokogorskem svetu.

Abstract:
This work treats the growth characteristic, structure and development of forest on the upper timberline on Košuta. The measurements were carried out ontwo plots just below the forest limit and on two stripes in the ecotone above forest limit. The results of these measurements, field surveys and dendrometric and aerophotos analyses show a strong anthropozoogenical influence in the past. Forest on the upper timberline have potential of high biomass productivity, what enables the environmental stability. The expedienceof the high mountain pasture regulation and other land use that would lead to a better natural development of the ecosystems in the high mountain region is evident from the analysis.
