Abstract
Diplomska naloga predstavlja predlog celovitega koncepta upravljanja gozdarskih koč v Julijskih Alpah. Gozdarske koče so v Julijskih Alpah različno ohranjene in izkoriščane.

Abstract:
The thesis proposes an overall concept for forest cottage management in the Julian Alps. Nowadays, forest cottages are no longer used by forestry workers for their lodging or storage of tools and equipment. Their purpose has changed completely, as they have acquired new roles in the forestry domain. These pertain to forest functions other than wood exploitation, such as touristic, recreational, educational and health-related roles. Forest cottages in the Julian Alps are preserved to a various degree and are used in avariety of ways. We made an inventory of the cottages and suggested a new purpose for every single one on the basis of its characteristics and present trends. We pursued some specific goals: to contribute to economical management of forest cottages and to promote forestry in general by various forms of educational activities in the cottages.
