For the last few years the project of ecological network Natura 2000 (in continuation Natura) is being established in the European Union. The aim of Natura is coherent ecological network and proper management in Natura sites toconserve European nature. In graduation thesis we analyze Natura and its forests with the method of survey on Natura and studies of relevant literature. We focused at more detailed level on the analysis of some member states Czech Republic, Italy, Lithuania, France, Spain and Germany. In discussion the comparison with Slovenia is made. Analysis is divided on several themes: general information, establishment procedure, comprehension problems, conservation measures, forest management, participation of public and opinion on nature conservation approach of Natura. Although the project of Natura is based on uniform directives the approaches on the establishment and implementation of conservation measures are different in member stares due to different comprehension, theme complexity, history of nature conservation and forestry, financial system and meaning of forest in region.
