Savinja branch of Slovenia mountaineering society bought off a range of Okrešelj in 1931. Members of the Savinja branch wanted to found a National park Logarska dolina-Okrešelj on this range. However the proclamation of the National park did not occur because of the beginning of the 2nd World War. Beginnings of gravitations round the purchase of Okrešelj are older. First contract between Slovenia mountaineering society and Ljubljana Archbishopric was signed in 1921. Capitol of Hierarchy in Ljubljana did not approve it, as long as the vagueness of execution of agrarian reform was not abolished. That is why purchase occurred only 10 years later. Considering that Savinja branch was buying off lands in Logarska dolina mostly of national reasons already before the 1st World War, it is very possible that the same reason was also a primary intention of purchasing Okrešelj. To this intention between the 1st and the 2nd World War the ideas concerning foundation of the National park were joined.
