The analysis of development of forest on the level of departments in Leskova Valley forest management unit from 1912 until today has been made. The data from management plans for eight regulative periods have been analysed. In the departments, the monitoring of development of growing stock, the share of coniferous and deciduous trees, the changes of increment, the diameter structure and cut has been made. In two departments also the analysis of the age of cut trees has been made. Growing stock has been increasing throughout the monitoring time. Up until 1936 the share oscillated and then after 1974 the share of conifers regressed. Since 1974 the share of fir has been decreasing, while the share of beech and spruce has been increasing. In 2004, the share of deciduous trees represented 30 % of growing stock. The increment of the share of deciduous trees was influenced by the omission of the selection system and fir losing vitality. Throughout the monitoring time the increment of the coniferous threes was larger than the increment of the deciduous trees. In 92 years of the monitoring time also the diameter structure changed. In 1912 the most of the growing stock was in the diameter class A and B. Later the share of the growing stock in the diameter class C increased. The analysis of trees age showed that rejuvenation of dominant fir trees between 1836 and 1842 and spruce trees in the period from 1831 to 1849.
