Enaminoketones are an important class of organic compounds with versatile applicability in organic synthesis, in particular in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. β-Ketoiminate complexes can be derived from the aforementioned compounds. These complexes have interesting optical properties, which suggest their possible use as substrates in photochemical transformations, which remain under-examined. This led to the attempt to develop new photochemical transformations of these compounds. Unfortunately, despite efforts, this achievement was elusive, thus I decided to focus on the starting enaminoketones as potential substrates for photochemical transformations. The efforts were successful, and the groundwork was laid for the development of novel photochemical reactions of these compounds. In parallel with the main topic, the aforementioned compound was reacted with chlorosulfonyl isocyanate, thus producing potential substrates for photoredox reactions.
