The central theme of the thesis is environmental protection. The topic has become increasingly relevant in recent years, and it is important to discuss and study it. The issue addressed in the thesis revolves around the question of how environmental taxes, environmental expenditures, and environmental impacts are connected. The aim is to propose solutions in the field of environmental protection and determine the impact of public policy instruments on environmental effects.
The objective was achieved through a study of literature from other authors and two statistical analyses - correlation analysis and multivariate regression analysis. The correlation analysis, focused on examining the relationship between environmental taxes and environmental expenditures and the connection between environmental expenditures and environmental impacts.
The study focused on the relationship between environmental taxes, expenditures, and impacts. A connection was found between environmental taxes and expenditures. However, a conclusive link between environmental expenditures and impacts could not be established. Environmental expenditures do not have a statistically significant impact on CO2 equivalents.
The thesis proposes solutions in the field of environmental protection and provides guidelines for addressing environmental issues. The contribution provides a new source from which researchers and policymakers can draw opinions and solutions on how to address current challenges. The data is also current and presents new results. The contribution is valuable for the broader society, ranging from legislators who are presented with up-to-date information to the industry, as the contribution enables them to understand the issues at hand.
