Our thesis provides an analysis of game population management in the Gorenjskahunting administration region. We presented legal regulation of this area in the past time and nowadays. Game management planning used to be under the authority of hunting organizations, but today management plans are made bySlovenia Forest Service. Hunting-management planning is today based on a control method, using the status indicators of game population and its environment. The status of game population is estimated according to analysis of data obtained by taking the animals, while the environment of the game is analyzed according to saplings inventory method. We indicate the separate treatment of huntable and non-huntable animal species as the downside of the existing animal life management. We also emphasized the necessity of merging the management with forest land and animal life.
