The article basically starts from the presentation of the play Emigranta of the Slovenian National Drama Theater directed by Nina Ramšak Marković as a possible theatrical adaptation of the play of the same name by the Polish writer Sławomir Mrożek. However, due to the complexity of its subject matter and specific dialogic structures, it opens up a multitude of new questions, crosses historical boundaries and, as a kind of paradigm on emigration, reflects the present day as well. By analyzing and understanding the social context, motives, symbolism, but also binary oppositions as a structural basis in the work of Sławomir Mrożek, the text will try to offer answers to the questions of actuality, as well as the reception of the considered dramatic work, but also to present the culture of migration as a ubiquitous phenomenon.
