Abstract
S preizkusom metode vpisnih knjig smo prišli do rezultatov o obiskanosti gorskih ciljev in odsekov poti. Obisk in s tem povezane obremenitve infrastrukture in okolja so v Kamniško-Savinjskih Alpah zelo neenakomerno razporejeni. Štiri območja so izrazito nadpovprečno obiskana, medtem ko preostali deli beležijo precej manjše število obiskovalcev.

Title:
Frequency of hiking trail use in the central Kamnik-Savinja Alps
Abstract:
Hiking trail use in Slovenian mountains due to tourism and recreation is poorly explored yet plays an important part in understanding the infrastructural and environmental load. This master's thesis offers a new and accessible method for following the number of visitors in the mountains and also provides results for spatially extensive yet detailed visualization of hiking trail use and summit conquests in Kamnik-Savinja Alps. It introduces and implements a method to measure frequency of trail use based on summit book entries, which is technically feasible and suitable for this kind of research because of its accessibility, simplicity and already existing records. Although deemed unreliable, summit book entries should not be left unexploited. Therefore, this work suggests including their analysis in a wider system for following the hiking trail use. Results acquired with this method show tremendously uneven dispersal of summit or hut visits and thus load on infrastructure and environment in Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Four areas are highly visited containing a few hiking trails that stand out with a number of visits more than fivefold higher than the rest of the trails. Comparing the actual visits and summit book entries with the help of automatic visit counter on mount Storžič, set up in the project of Alpine Association of Slovenia called Planinstvo 4.0, confirmed that the results serve as actual assessment of frequency of hiking trail use.
