The state must follow the progress of technology, as advanced technology is more efficient and enables the achievement of a higher quality of services. Slovenia set out to achieve this goal by connecting and combining services at the state level. With this, employees can expect more modern equipment and fewer problems related to infrastructure capacity and possible system malfunctions. In the master's thesis, we used a survey to investigate the opinion of public administration employees on the adequacy of ICT for smooth work performance and the adequacy of IT support. Modern ICT equipment also requires systems management skills. For this purpose, a comparison of digital competences in Slovenia and the EU was carried out. Data were obtained from secondary sources, statistically processed and analysed. From the results, we can see that employees in the public administration are equipped with appropriate ICT, which is also properly maintained. Also, public administration employees have timely and appropriate information support, which enables them to carry out their work smoothly. A deficiency has been demonstrated regarding the implemented training of employees for the use of work technological devices and software. The majority of civil servants estimate that they are proficient in the use and use of technological devices and software for work. Statistical data show that in Slovenia in 2023, the digital competence of the population was lower than the average in the EU. The obtained data show that it is necessary to continue activities within the framework of the introduced work system, but to provide more training for working with technological devices and software used by civil servants.
