Abstract

Title:The use of ICT in the organization, management and control of the construction site : graduation thesis
Abstract:
The thesis discusses the issue of safety at work and methods of its improvement on Slovenian and foreign construction sites. The main question posed and answered by the thesis is whether and how the use of smart information and communication wearable safety devices can enhance safety and health care at construction sites. A study of Slovenian regulations, standards, and workplace accident statistics on both domestic and foreign construction sites serves as the foundation for exploring various types of smart wearable protective equipment aimed at improving the workplace accident statistics. The thesis also provides recommendations and guidelines for companies to implement these technologies effectively among their employees. Utilizing sensors that detect hazards on construction sites, as well as sensors monitoring the well-being and health of workers, smart protective helmets, watches, glasses, and other safety gear alert to accidents, prevent them, and enhance workplace safety statistics. This is substantiated by studies presented in the thesis. The answers and findings that are described in the conclusion of the thesis are important to encourage society and construction companies to start implementing smart wearable safety devices for the purpose of safety of their workers. Through research and analysis, the thesis promotes continued exploration of workplace safety issues, urging the development of innovative smart safety devices and the initiation of their implementation on construction sites.
