Abstract

Title:Analysis of State of Ergonomics of Manual Workstation for Left-handers and Right-handers
Abstract:
On manual workstation in manufacturing processes left- and right-handed workers are present. Left-handed workers are in minority. That is why in this thesis we are focused on the state of ergonomics: design and construction of manual workstation to be precise. In the first part of thesis, we analysed the literature from the field of manual workstations, theoretical background of workstations, standards for design of workstations and work activities. Two standards describing ergonomics of manual workstation, principles of ergonomics and methods of ergonomics are presented more detailed. We analysed a part of human on workstation with emphasis on adjustments for left- and right-handed. As results we present differences between workstations with stress on difference in adjustments for different dominant hand, analysis of tools, the use of ergonomics standards, influences of ergonomic principles and criteria, introduced are different models for human performance analysis. Case study for manual workstation, where left- and right-handed workers are compared, is presented. The most important findings are, that left- and right-handed workers don't differ in learning time and performance in manufacturing process on workstation. Ergonomics uses symmetry when designing manual workstations for left- ad right-handed.
