In this thesis, we will firstly introduce the technology of distributed ledger and contextualize it by placing the blockchain technology within its framework. We will describe the key concepts of the latter and present the categorization of various implementations of blockchain technologies based on their openness. Subsequently, we will provide a detailed presentation of the Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric platforms. Following a thorough introduction to both platforms, we will conduct a comparative analysis between them, emphasizing their strengths and limitations. In the second part, we will outline a practical problem in the field of construction. We will argue why blockchain technology is suitable for solving this problem and specifically why we have chosen Hyperledger Fabric as an example of permissioned blockchain technology. In conclusion, we will present our solution and evaluate its success.
