This paper examines the way that Spanish literature is dealt with in Slovene secondary school literature manuals, in particular the Spanish authors and texts studied. Furthermore, the aim of the article is also to judge the importance of selected authors in comparison to the Spanish literary canon and the importance of Spanish literature within world literature. This brief survey relates to the most
used Slovene literature manuals Svet književnosti 1–4 and Branja 1–4, and also considers Zlati poljub and Poljub zlata by Zoran Božič.
